Testimonials
The coaching has transformed my working life. Just the process of agreeing goals with the coach was incredibly valuable.
I have grown in confidence and with that has come opportunities which I have been able to take advantage of. The skills I put into practice during the coaching experience I have kept with me and make me a more effective and more fulfilled member of staff. Nicky Spode is someone that I could really talk to and trust. She has empathy and I felt she understood how I felt about work. Nicky can be tough when necessary. I really enjoyed my sessions and would recommend Nicky very highly.
Carole Madge (Senior Broadcast journalist)
Nicky is very friendly, patient and easy to talk; I soon felt relaxed and able to talk openly. The challenging questions and setting of goals enabled me to tackle difficult issues. Provided helpful, practical suggestions and very useful summaries.
I believe I have grown in confidence since starting coaching and the skills I have learnt will enable me to build on this. I am able to think more positively and objectively about aspects of myself and my job. I am also managing my time more effectively, setting time aside for strategic work, which in turn helps with self-confidence.
Claire Hiscock (Finance Manager, Cancer Care Charity)
Nicky provided a fantastic service explaining the processes in detail and how to use the information to move forward. Whatever else is happening in your life, each session with Nicky is focussed exclusively on YOU and what matters most to you. She is very easy to talk to, which is probably why she is so good at what she does.

I truly felt the coaching sessions all added to my abilities to perform in my new role. It allowed me to explore difficult situations and scenarios in a non-judgemental way, and gave me the confidence to go back and try out new and innovative ways of solving the problems I was facing.
Endaf Williams (Head of Finance, broadcast media organisation)
Refreshing, inspiring and extremely helpful. Very calm and made me feel relaxed straight away. Trustworthy, friendly and knowledgeable.
Miriam Rees (Office 24/7)
Friendly, relaxed, considerate, flexible, confident, empathetic, whilst still being a driver in the sessions to make sure that the best use was made of the time.
Lydia North (Operational Manager, Information and Archives)
Nicky was very friendly, relaxed and most perceptive. She was extremely adaptable and knew exactly when to lead and when to follow the discussion. She was very flexible in how the session was conducted, adopted different approaches as the session or conversation required. I would not have had the same result if it had been someone other than Nicky leading the sessions.
Tommy O'Neill (Web Architect - RCN Webteam)
Nicky's style is not to provide you with answers to your problems, but to talk around an issue and get you to think in different ways and ask yourself questions that may not have previously occurred to you in order to find the answers to your problems yourself.
Nicky is very friendly, approachable, honest, encouraging, enthusiastic and kind and this comes across in the way she deals with a 'coachee'. I've learned a lot from Nicky in the way she deals with others.
Emma Hicks (Financial Reporting & Analysis Manager, broadcast media organisation)
I found Nicky thoughtful and insightful, gently but consistently challenging and fun.
Tim Fenton (Independent Media Consultant)
Nicky was very understanding and patient. Her questions kept me on track and allowed me to think in a logical process, which ultimately helped me understand and realise what areas I need to focus on.
Charlotte Greenman (Accredited Marketing)
I thought that the service was superb. I wasn’t talked over or patronised; it was just a friendly and extremely helpful experience which I would advise anyone to have if they are trying to make a difficult or confusing decision.
I thought that the coach’s style was excellent, you were friendly and constructive; it was more like having an informal chat with a friend which i personally thought helped me open up about things.
Rhianon Gibbons (Student)
Nicky is brilliant. She has an amazing ability to keep you focussed on what actually is the problem — rather than allowing you use the session as a whinge fest! She is also fantastic at making you do the work. She is has a very gentle guiding nature — making you come up with the answers — rather than making suggestions or providing them. She is also unbelievably clear about the structure of the session — and also about making sure you are happy with the how the session is progressing. She is also brilliant at summarising what you've said and giving you clear pointers on what your next move is. Coming from a working environment which is all about meeting deadlines — I felt that she tailored the sessions very much to suit my style of working.
Judith Hollingsworth (Assistant News Editor)
Being self-employed and working from home is not always easy. You do not receive any training, I suppose you learn as you go along, and that includes both the good and the bad habits. Your office is always there 24/7 and you can easily spend far too much time in it. I was, and I knew it, but how was I to solve this problem? With Nicky's help I have achieved my goal of more "me time". My office is more organised, runs more efficiently, and consequently I spend less time in it. With Nicky's ideas, encouragement and enthusiasm I now have more "time out". I plan my week ahead now in a different way. I make sure I have the leisure time I was always trying to get, but never quite achieving. Many thanks Nicky. You really have helped me.
